Free Control

Influenced by a diverse breadth of styles, Free Control brings together five determined musicians. Their aim is to make music that inspires them personally, and to create an amazing live experience for their audience.

Explosive sounds, fluid melodies and intricate style come together to create a unique and powerful sound.

Free Control are a five piece band from Leicester. Together in their current line up since late 2008, the band comprises founder members Oliver Bloor (Bass), Paul Cole (Drums) and Greg Shute (Guitar and Vocals), Sally Hossack (Vocals and Flute) and Mike Sole (Keyboards).

Having spent the early part of 2009 writing material and recording a demo/EP, Free Control embarked on a summer of gigs in the Midlands, the highlight being a slot on the indoor main stage at Leicester’s Summer Sundae Festival.

The band’s music is shaped by the diversity of influences brought by each member. Difficult to pigeonhole, Free Control combine explosive rhythms, fluid melodies and a unique style to create a powerful, emotionally driven sound.

The band is accompanied live by VJ Tony Coleman of theLab, providing a live visual backdrop to further enhance the mood of the music. Free Control’s live performances are drawing a loyal and ever growing following, gaining a reputation as a show not to be missed!

The band continue to perform on a regular basis, and are currently writing new material for their debut album which is due for release summer 2010.
