Act Biography
The roots of Cry Havoc can be traced all the way back to 2007, where guitarists Tristan (Gaskell) and James (Findlay) met at Exeter's prestigious "Academy of Music and Sound". After discovering they both shared the same love and passion for bands such as Metallica, Slayer, Guns N' Roses, and Motley Crue, they began writing songs. From here they decided they needed a vehicle for the numerous riffs, and songs, so the search for other band members began. In 2009 they recruited fellow guitarist/vocalist and Academy student, Gav Bolt to take singing duties. The following addition was of bass guitarist Rich Finch, and after depping for their first gig, Frank Dennis (also from Academy) took up drumming duties.
From here they became industrious about writing songs, and turning the Cry Havoc beast into an attitude fuelled band. Taking plenty of inspiration from their varying influences, they have managed to develop a familiar heavy metal sound reminiscent of bands such as Metallica, and Guns' N' Roses.
Their live shows are an explosion on onstage energy as Gavin refuses to stand still, and gets every member of the crowd involved. The rhythm section of Frank and Rich is incredibly solid allowing the guitarists James and Tris do what they do best, wow-ing the crowd with their skill and showmanship.
This alcohol fuelled, hard rocking, aggressive band put on a show that will blow you away, leave you battered, bruised, and very much hung-over
Cry Havoc aim to rekindle the classic metal/rock scene by merging their classic influences of bands such as Mötley Crüe, Metallica, Slayer, and Guns 'N' Roses.
