Act Biography

The Refinements - the UK's best two tone ska band

The Refinements are a seven piece live ska band, hailing from North London. Our core set is two tone ska from the early eighties – think The Specials, Madness, Bad Manners, The Beat, The Selecter...positive, upbeat party ska tracks that you can’t help but dance to! You can hear demos on our web site at www.therefinements.com

Each band member has extensive live and studio experience, with over 100 years of gig experience between us. Our sound is tight and professional and we offer a complete, reliable entertainment package.

We've gigging at pubs, clubs, parties and scooter clubs across the UK, with recent gigs at the Banbury Club (Birmingham), The Bull & Gate (London) and the George and Dragon (St Neots) getting fantastic responses from the crowd. In Summer 2009 we played on BBC Three Counties Radio, with DJ Ronnie Barbour devoting his show to a live set by the band.

We love what we do, perform with real energy and can practically guarantee to get a crowd moving!

Testimonials

"Want to say a massive thank you to you all that made the night a success. Great music that had the dancefloor packed throughout the two sets that you played for us. Got to say that we will definitely turn up at any do's you're playing at in the future. FANTASTIC!!!"

John, Kay & The Midland Misfits Scooter Club, Coventry (October 2009)

"The gig was a massive success...there were people dancing on the tables for most of your second set. I haven't had such a good dance in ages. I want to have another party just so I can hear you play again!"

Bill Twiston-Davies, Private Party (September 2009)

"Fantastic...Magnificent!"

Ronnie Barbour, BBC Three Counties Radio (June 2009)
