Act Biography

Faces Of Dorian (FOD) are a Yorkshire 4 piece indie band formed in 2008 in Leeds. They are a meeting of minds of the science of the chord and the artistry of the hand. They assault you with haunting drumming, intricate guitars and rugged vocals that allow listeners to experience rather than hear songs. They are constructed as a band but imagined by Nader on guitar. Influenced by song writing of REM and early Radiohead, Nader leans towards social commentary always disguising an agenda with popular melody. Jonny leads the outfit on guitar and vocals. An original rock and roller, Jonny is inspired by 90's raw vocal sounds and recognizable lead patterns that remind you of the glory days of Oasis. Mick on drums was raised by metal and is the engine of the band, maintaining the discipline and movement. A classically trained musician, Andy plays bass like an electric cello. His counter melodies and harmonies gives bass playing a degree of excellence scholars will want to score rather than tab. As a band FOD are exciting and energetic in performance. A must see live band with a lot to say and even more to prove. Named and inspired by the late Oscar Wilde’s ‘Picture of Dorian Gray’ the band are opinionated when it comes to the sustainability of beauty and perfection. Not political but respectably persuasive they are a real band campaigning very real characters. Much like their muse they hope people will one day look back and talk about what it must have been like to live in the time of the Faces of Dorian.
