Founded originally in the late ‘90s, The Rubber Plants' music and personnel gradually changed to encompass more and more Led Zeppelin material until, by 1999, the had evolved into the beginnings of what they are today: A tight, professional Zeppelin tribute band, whose dynamic two-hours set has been distilled into an exciting mixture of power and innovation which genuinely captures the spirit of the original masters.
The Rubber Plants appeared in The Scrap Metal Tour, designed to discover Ireland's best hard-rock tribute band and get them on the line-up for the ultimate gig - Glastonbudget, the premier world festival for tribute bands.
With rock legends such as Biff Byford (Saxon), Brian Tatler (Diamond Head) and Brian Roberson (Thin Lizzy, Moterhead), along with Ireland's most promient music fans, casting their ears and eyes over the proceedings, one band was choosen as the SCRAP METAL CHAMPIONS and selected to headline the Glastonbudget festival in the UK.
