Act Biography
Biography Coldplace are a coldplay tribute who come from the sunny east
coast town of Grimsby. As keen fans of Coldplay's music, Coldplace strive to
recreate the passion and feeling that comes from a live Coldplay
performance.
We believe that we are the most authentic tribute you will see with front
man Shane Crofts perfectly recreating the melancholic tones of Chris Martin
and so naturally moving around stage...........
We have been together since the end of 2004, whilst we are on our third bass
player Asa Crofts, the backbone of the band, Shane, James and Wayne, remain
the same. During our time together we have performed in some fantastic
venue's, locations and to amazing crowds all over Britain and even on
foreign shores. Malta has almost become a second home to the band with an
incredible fanbase over there.
HIGHLIGHTS
We have had so many highlights over the past couple of years, including
playing at the mathew street festival in liverpool twice, the second time
was in front of an estimated 30+ thousand people which was quite mind
blowing, have also performed for the England World Cup Rugby Squad. Malta
has been another major highlight for us, fisrt time there we played in front
of over a thousand people and got treat like royalty, it was fantastic. With
the success of this gig we got invited back straight away and when we
returned we supported the one and only Sir Bob Geldoff.
We have played in many of the big music venues around the UK, one of our
favourites has to be Mr Kyps' in Poole. The whole set up there is amazing
and the people there are fantastic. We get such good support from the crowd,
it is fantastic. Check this review from Alan Burridge off the Mr Kyps'
website
"It was an evening Where mr Kyps' massed-voice choir would come into there
own. Coldplace were naturally nervous. It was a new gig to them and how
could they know what to expect.
With excellent musicianship from there guitarist, drummer, bass and
keyboards line up, not forgetting "Chris", of course, who moved between
piano and guitar with comparative ease.
The veteran of mr Kyps' that i am, i have never witnessed such overwhelming
audience participation. The place heaved, it swayed, it rocked. And i hope
the floorboards are in good order, 'cos i had the feeling we were going to
fall into a black hole hole underneath at times."
As well as playing at amazing venues infront of some amazing people, we are
actually getting noticed in the media too with appearances in numerous
newspapers and magazines, a number of radio appearances including a BBC
Radio 2 documentary on tribute bands and more recently we featured on ITV,
CH5 and SKY news during a tribute band feature they where running. We seem
to have become quite regular on our local news too, with a couple of big
features on ITV's Calendar news programme.
