SAMTANA

Samtana are the ultimate Santana tribute. Formed in 2005 Samtana are exciting audiences where ever they play with their pulsating fiery Latin rock. Dedicated to replicating the vintage sounds of Santana the band have the classic line up. A four piece rythym section of drums, bass, congas and timbali. A hammond organ to provide the authentic Santana sound, powerful vocals and blisteringly accurate guitar playing. John Hole(guitar) played professionaly during the eighties and went on to manage Echo and the Bunnymen. He also played extensively with 'Kipper' Stings keyboard player and producer.
Ken Carroll (Hammond and keys) Toured with JO JO Gunne and Cliff Bennet and the Rebel Rousers.
Joe Beckett (timbali) has played with Paul Weller and is currently also part of Peter White's UK line up. Having recently played with Peter at the Cape Town Jazz festival and Newport Jazz festival.
Samtana's remaining musicians are also accomplished in their own right with many years experience.
David Strudwick(vocals, sax and percussion)holds a diploma in jazz performance and teaches Jazz Saxophone.
Matt Dean (drums) has played in venues including the Albert Hall. He write for drum Magazines and teaches drums from his own studio.
