The Sneaks

The Sneaks formed in 2007 after a drunken night out in Leicester city and several hours of off key barber shop singing and Beach Boys impersonations led lead Singer Michael Seymour to have an epiphany. With his passion for 1950s Americana he decided that he wanted to create a band with the vocal complexity of the Beach Boys and similar artists, rock and roll, and modern punk and ska, to create an entertaining and energetic brand of alternative music.

Although formed in Leicester, the band consider themselves as East Midlands based, as it is only guitarist Duncan who hails from Leicester. Lead singer Mike and drummer Lee are both from Derby, whilst bass player Tom was born and raised in Nottingham. This factor has helped them to become a recognizable name on all three of the East Midlands cities punk pop and ska circuits.
Over time the band has moved further into the style of feel good ska and punk with a few darker and heavier moments breaking through every now and again.

The band have have had the opportunity to play with some excellent bands including My Awesome Compilation, Random Hand The Cute Lepers, The Skints, Mouthwash, New Riot, Jimmy The Squirrel, Captain Horizon and JB Conspiracy to name a few. They also played in 2009's and 2010's Glastonbudget festival in Leicestershire. A full gig history is listed below.

The band recorded two demos throughout 09 and 10, and their first full length album; ‘Product of Society’ is now available as a free download from www.thesneaks.bandcamp.com
