Act Biography
Pink Ukulele Guy was born when at a friends birthday party, Jamie Boast took it upon himself to play a cover of a friends song on "the gayest instrument possible" after a no show. This then led to further cover versions on the Pink Flying V Shaped Uke, being thrown into open mic sets to add a bit of fun to the set.
Soon enough Jamie realised, that for one, the Uke suited his voice better than Guitar, and that truly, this was one amazing Ukulele and it had brought more fun in a few little open mic runs than any of the bands he had ever attempted to get going.
The lightbulb moment came when in a rock club in the town, a punter who had seen him play but not remembered the name Jamie Boast, did shake his hand and point out to his friend "this guy's class, that pink ukulele guy from alchemy". There was no longer a need to use his real name, or a guitar.
Since then there has been a feverish need to go out and play open mic's at every opportunity, booking gigs if nessecary, but just trying to spread a bit of uke joy around wherever the Motorbike can get to that will allow a bit of music. Whether it be self penned tales of his friends and his love for their music and the times shared through it, or getting people moving about to a bit of Jackson 5, Nirvana, Tom Jones, whatever the mood calls for.
Pink Ukulele Guy will be somewhere, playing away at his little pink instrument, and you might just be in for a nice surprise when you see it.
